Flagstaff

Flagstaff is a wonderful place offering prehistoric, historic and contemporary interests.  This is an area of early volcanic activity, early native peoples, and modern astrogeology studies.  I have explored the Walnut Canyon Cliff Dwellings, the Wupatki Ruins of ancient sinagua pueblos, The Sunset Mountain Volcanic Crater and tomorrow I plan on a quick trip to the Meteor Crater where the Apollo Astronauts trained.  In addition there is a large university, (North Arizona University), the Lowell Observatory (discovered Pluto and supports all our space programs), a left over lumbering town image, a world class Museum of Northern Arizona culture and 100 feet of snow in the winter!  They lost me with the 100 feet of snow.  But I do love the San Francisco Peaks which seem to always be just around the corner.  The are park of the old volcanic activity
