Seacoast Highway route 101

For some reason these driving days become longer and more interesting than expected. The day began on route 1 which was a secondary road between the ocean and the so called seacoast highway 101. After about 40 miles the road had turned inland at Leggett and led to the park drive thru tree.  After paying $5 to go to the tree I chickened out.  I won't drive through the car wash much a tree.  Next came the Humboldt Redwood State Park and a long drive on the Avenue of the Giants.  This was like driving on a sidewalk through the trees.  Every once in a while the highway left the woods and followed along the coast.  Loads of great scenery.  Again I had to avoid stopping at every vista to take pictures.  It was cloudy today with occasional light rain.  First rain since Memphis I think.  Happy Easter.
